The implication here is that those of us who have served are some sort of "instinctual" killers. Nothing is further from the truth. The reason enlisted people are sent to basic training is to teach how to shoot and ...how to kill. This is never done lightly, you can look at the process as a form of brainwashing, and you would be correct. The difference is that you are trained to react in given situations, not blindly everytime you hear a bell.

But, if you really feel you could not point a weapon at someone and pull the trigger; how about if you couldn't see them? What if you were just adjusting a large gun to a set of coordinates and pushing a button? A big boom, no worse than some college pranks at that point.
