Allowing college to be an out merely makes sure that the privileged and wealthy kids aren't included.

I would support mandatory enlistment at 18 for all males. Perhaps only for basic training, then out to their normal lives. I would even allow them to choose their service. Air Force, Marines, Navy, Army.

I would also forbid females from enlisting other than as clerical or other non-combat duty, and in no account would females be allowed into combat zones in any capacity.
