According to what the Docs told us...oh so long ago...it is up to the woman. She knows her body better than anyone and as long as she is not uncomfortable with it and it doesn't hurt, enjoy your pregnancy. Another piece of advice to pregnant women (specifically my Mom) from the Doc that slapped me on the bottom: "Every evening sit down in a comfy chair and put your feet up. Then spend at least a half an hour sitting there slowly sipping a small glass of red wine." I asked him in later years about that and all the issues with drinking and smoking during pregnancy. His reply is that all things need to be done in moderation. But that the real reason he prescibed that was so that the woman would take some time at the end of her day and just sit and relax and feel just a touch spoiled. He said it was good for the body, mind and soul. Then he looked at me and told me that if I was really worried about it to look in the mirror. My mom did it and I didn't turn out bad at all! :)
