| WCG have launched a new project, Genome Comparison with the Bioinformatics Team at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Fiocruz, Brazil. The project is a comparison of all genomic data using the most rigorous algorithm available, resulting in the Genome Grid database.
World Community Grid is two years old!
Thank you all for your continued dedication. Don't ever quit! HPF2 is restarting, and new projects are emerging from the pipeline. WCG will be keeping us busy for years to come.
Our new target is to reach 500 active members. Remember, an active member is one who returned a result in the last seven days.
The World Community Grid is a grid computing project whose mission "[...] is to create the world's largest public computing grid to tackle projects that benefit humanity." Their current projects are Genome Comparison, Help Defeat Cancer, FightAIDS@Home and Human Proteome Folding Phase 2.
