I have ear infections on a semi regular basis. If I keep water out it doesn't happen often. I've had drops for them often. Even had one get as bad as yours.(i.e. pain in the jaw down to the chin ) Not fun. Took ibuprofin for the pain and some swelling relief. And the drops religuosly. Was gone within a week or so. Currently I regulaarly swab the ear cannal with a cotton swab ( Q-tip?) with some triple anti-biotic ointment. The oinment was the same as the drops except heaper as it was OTC stuff . Yeah I know one should NOT use swabs in ear and oinment wasn't for ear either. But it works. I've also heard a drop or two of viniger in the ar after shower etc. helps to prevent infection due to the acidity . Good Luck.
