induction boiler plate (now and then they sell portable single-plate ones for 35¤ here, regular installed 4-plate ones are *much* more expensive). That won't help with a wok (thin frying pan instead) but it is as flexible as cooking by gas: you can control the heat instantly without the time lag you have with normal e-stoves. Disadvantage: only iron pots and pans without alluminium will do (some are made of aluminium or have it in their thick bottoms for better heat distribution). Not sure about cast iron, could be critical, too.
