not true. LEGO is alomost never missing a piece by volg2006-11-05 08:28:57
Mega-Block has few redeeming qualities. by vampire 2006-11-19 12:55:59
The pieces do not stay together, the colors are dull, the blocks look blocky....

Of course, Mega-Block does cost a WHOLE lot less than LEGOs. Now they have done a couple really good models. However, they usually have to make some very customized pieces to accomplish this. I did break down and buy the Ford GT from Mega-Block (http://www.iqkids.net/prfogt.html).

People sometimes accuse LEGO of creating unique pieces for certain models. However, I have always been able to find them re-used elsewhere. It is usually just for something you never would have considered and completely different from the first way you saw it used. They have even recently (past 2 years?) started creating modeling pieces and creating flat surfaces in models. This gives their products aimed at older audiences some very realistic looking builds. It really is a shame that LEGO did not get the Battletech/Mechwarrior license. My guess is that they offered a lower percentage of the sales. However, I am also willing to bet that the LEGO version would not only cost more, it would also sell more and would in the end result in more money for FASA (FASA created Battletech in the mid-80's and stills owns it AFAIK). Oh well....
