Why do we confuse "Rights" with "Privileges"? by imWACC02006-11-05 06:01:56
We enforce the blurring in our laws by Havoc 2006-11-05 11:50:19
In the USA.

If you are convicted of a felony, you lose:

The Right to bear arms
The Privilege of voting
etc.

I don't think it has sunk in yet for my brother, but his 3rd DUI resulted in a FELONY conviction - thus he is and will always be a Felon.

I don't think he realizes yet that he can never again go hunting. He was a big hunter, at least 2 deer every year, he loved to hunt. Now he can't go anymore. Not allowed to own or carry a weapon. That includes bows and black powder. He gets to listen to his friends brag about hunting, but now he can't go anymore.

I only hope he quits drinking completely, nothing. Not even beer. He is a smart guy, but after he has been drinking with his 'friends' he gets stupid and decides he can drive home, it's not far.

Then its the cops fault for having it in for him, trapping him, lying in wait for him.

*sigh*
