| e of grades, I was the youngest and smallest student in my grade. There were people in that class who had failed twice and so were both much older and much larger than I was. Watch the 12-year-old cower in the corner while being threatened by 16-year-olds wielding sharpened rattail combs as weapons and demanding her homework because they couldn't be bothered to do theirs. These 'kids' were punished often (not just due to me, either), but laughed it off. It was sort of a badge of honour with them to do so. They often glued hair across their palms (the kind of glue you can't see when it dries) so that the strap would make the hairs cut them and their palms would bleed. Catholic school discipline only works on those who learn from it. The hardened types continue to make life difficult no matter what the threat of punishment. |
