We are just experiencing a polarization of politics that happens every 20-30 years.

Andrew Jackson was getting threats while he was speaking in a town for his candidateship. He pulled out his pistol, layed it on the podium, and went on speaking.

This stuff happens in a cyclical fashion.

People worry too much. There are always right-wing nutjobs and liberal nutjobs. Most of the country is ensconced somewhere in the middle.
