The reason that that is in your constitution is because no-one trusted your people not to lapse back into savagery. Seven million dead in concetration camps? Destruction of the Roman Empire? Did you know that the word "barbarian" comes from the Romans not being able to understand your language?
Joecrouse is merely being reactionary to the fact that because Saddam is going to be executed the suggestion that Americans are considered savages immediately came up, rather than talking about the merits of the case. That was the TLP. He then proceeded to defend his view by going further and further.
He isn't a bad guy, but you all stuffed him in a corner and he felt that he needed to fight back.
Did any of you think that Saddam wasn't going to get the death penalty? You do realize that it is an Arabic country, right?
Europe has had the death penalty for millenia, but just because you got rid of it recently you assume that we are barbarians. Hell, France didn't abolish PUBLIC executions until the 1970's.
As a result of Joe's patriotism he felt the need to defend the USA, he didn't do it well, but you all kept backing him into a corner. His extremist remarks are because he was the only American awake at the time and he was trying to defend his position.
Let me remind you: until recently very few European countries even thought about abolishing the death penalty. Just because you "found G-d" doesn't mean I have to.
You want to know why I was born: Pograms in Russia; Mass execution of Jews in Germany; English slaying Irish at will; my scottish ancestors supported the wrong prince and they were not even allowed to keep their names or assemble. So my ancestors came here.
