I never cease to amaze at this paranoid "everyone including the government is out to get me" worldview that is so pervasive throughout and is so cultivated in the US. Problem with that IMHO is that when you have a worldview like that, you start looking for out-to-get-me's and so inevitably become an out-to-get-me for someone else.
