Why do we confuse "Rights" with "Privileges"? by imWACC0 2006-11-05 06:01:56
Around here (U.S.A.) we have the Inalienable Rights, "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. German law states "The dignity of a human being is sacrosanct". I'm sure that other countries have wording to the same effect.

However, it seems to me that theses rights are given by man, and then abused by man.

What "Right" to life dose a three month premature baby, that is already addicted to crack from a druggie mother, have?

What "Right" did the Lebanese villagers have in the "Hezbollah Israel war"?
Or any village, in any war for that matter?

When a father runs into a burning building to save his kids, who has the grater "Right"? The kids or the father?
Or the Emergence Services when running into the World Trade Center?

At most you have the privilege of continuing to live. Stop thinking of "Your Rights" and start thinking about what duties you have. Your duty to family, or your country, or if you can extend it a little further your world.
