Hey, you! Yes, you there, Windows Update! by Arivia2006-11-05 00:21:06
  I don't mind the auto up-date by imWACC02006-11-05 00:37:20
My issue with it is the forced reboot... by jmaxsohmer2006-11-05 01:46:10
Better solution: by Bonzo 2006-11-05 02:34:40
Make a file called "shutup.bat" in C:\Windows
Contents of the file:
--- SOF ---
@echo off
cls
echo This superneat batchfile was provided by Bonzo
echo It stops the WinUpdate service from nagging me with reboots.
sc stop wuauserv
echo.
echo Done!
echo That Bonzo sure is a genious!
ping 127.0.0.1 > NUL
ping 127.0.0.1 > NUL
--- EOF ---

If you don't want to do that, find another way to run "sc stop wuauserv" wich stops the service.
Better than killing the process.. ;)

"net stop wuauserv", not "sc stop wuauserv". by bwkaz2006-11-05 05:26:12
