For me it's a bit harder to parse sometimes as you have to distinguish between lines of code and comments.

in the 2nd example code is in one "column", coments are in the other. If you want code, you know where it is, when you're not sure what it does you switch to the comment column.

If you're reading the code slowly then yes, it may actually help as it looks nicer. But when I'm writing the code I want to see the code and I don't want to use the extra power in figuring out if it's a comment or not.
