will only travel back to earth at the speed of light. So you might as well have just found a really good mirror there. And an object traveling faster than light has imaginary mass... Then you have the issue that the term "past" is somewhat vague. Simulataneity is relative. The only time "past" and "future" have any definite meaning is when you talk about past and future light cones. And I don't want to think about the light cone of an object traveling faster than light.
