A question for Star Wars fans by moongoddess2006-10-26 10:54:05
  27/28 by dodrian2006-11-19 12:55:59
I'd peg him to be older than that by a few years by basher202006-10-26 11:21:01
Well, according to the Wikipedia entry, by Cural 2006-10-26 18:10:56
he would be 29 at the time of the Battle of Yavin, and 24 when he was drummed out of the academy for rescuing Chewbacca. That's 5 years, plus another 3 before Ep 5.

If he met Lando within the first year after being kicked out of the academy, and won the ship from him within the first year or two, it is conceiveable it had been 6 or 7 years since he'd seen Lando. For somebody who is 32 years old (as he is at the time of Ep 5), 6 or 7 years can seem like a long time.

I'm 31, and it's less than 3 months before I turn 32, and 6 or 7 years ago seems like a long time. I wasn't working, I hadn't yet met my wife, I was still going to college, I had a whole different group of friends, my computer was nothing like what it is now, etc, etc, etc. That was years ago. ;)

Take a look at this site:

http://www.randomhouse.com/delrey/starwars/timeline.html

According to this, the Han Solo Adventures take place 5-2 years before the Battle of Yavin, and he has the Falcon during these novels.

A bit more information to help put the timeline into perspective. :)
