Your comment, plus general feelings of wanting to leave america and go home, really depressed me.
There was me, trying in some wishy washy way to suggest that most people in the world don't WANT fascism, or libertarian anarchy, just something in the middle which isn't to extreme.
Most people on this board who express an opinion are extremists. You are for the left, Vivian and DR66 are for the right. That's fine. Someone has to have the tug of war that keeps society from falling over one way or the other. But for those of us in the middle, who aren't rabid towards a cause, that you on both sides denigrate as "sheeple" because we are not hard against any of the end-stops.... We'd occasionally like you guys to stop saying "We alone, of all political views hold the TRUTH" and admit that maybe the middle ground has soem value.
But why bother? Everything has to be a wedge strategy, there's no room for people who don't believe in $IDEOLOGY. If you compromise, you have FAILED!
I'm now depressed enough to call in sick. I can't wait to see the rebuttal. |
