paging ufie electricals by tyebald 2006-10-26 07:59:35
I recently had a Dell DC brick go dead on me. It needed to output 19.5V, and it would only pump out 19.25V (fluctuating about .1V either way). I got a new one sent to me, which holds 19.5V with no fluctuation. Which, presumably, is a Good Thing(tm).

My question is this: is it likely something fairly simple that's fried inside the bad brick that would make it worth my while to crack it open and try to fix? Or is it best just to turf a DC converter in the trash when it starts to behave like this?
