It started as rain just after midnight, turned to frozen rain (sleet?) in an hour or so, and started snowing not long after that. The shovelers that showed up at work at about 6am (2 hours ago) kept clearing stuff to have it snowed back over within 10 minutes. The roads sucked, but it was mostly slushy, not icy. My normal commute time of 15 minutes was more than tripled, and that's not counting the 10 minutes it took to push all the snow off my car.
Makes for wonderful sleeping weather though. The snow keeps people inside and deadens noise like crazy, it's nice and cool in the apartment, and I don't have to worry about glaring sun peeking through the blinds. |
