Welcome to the W:ET post of the day.
W:ET (short for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory) is a free first person shooter game for Windows, Linux and Macs that a large number of UFies play.
Current server: wolfet.austinkp.info
Current server status (assuming it's working)
Assuming they have been fixed instructions on downloading the game, the server run for UFies, the rules we play by and some advice for newbies please see the FAQ on UF W:ET.
There is also information and advice in the Enemy Territory diary however many of the links in the diary are now out of date.
In addition to this post and the Diary there is a W:ET discussion board for longer term discussions.
The UF W:ET Wiki contains a who's who list and aditional information on the game.
Emergency install instuctions since all of the above links seem to point to bad links and/or information
You can get the game (windows and linux ports) from one of the links at http://games.activision.com/games/wolfenstein/
Windows: Install the patch to 2.60 from the above link. Grab et-2.60b.zip from http://austinkp.info/etpro/ or http://deverant.pp.fi/wolfet/ and copy the two .exe files into your W:ET directory. Grab the etpro-3_2_6.zip file from the second of those two links and install it.
Linux: See this post.
Maps: In theory these should auto download as needed. Generally it is far far faster to grap them manually from austin or deverant using the links above. Either grab the zip file or if space / bandwidth are an issue then try to connect, see which map it starts to download, exit and grab it by hand. Repeat until it's happy.
Common command line options: +server [server name] and +password [server password] can come in handy.
