| But seriously, I doubt the effect of smoking on productivity can be enumerated quite so easily. Smoking might have some effect or none at all, depending on the person and type of work, but this effect isn't comparable due to the initial level of productivity varying greatly from one person to another. For all I know in some cases the effect might even be positive, because the break allows the person to clear his/her head, blow off some steam and then get back to work. For example, taking a break to smoke is said to be a good method of avoiding RSI. |
