It implies that you are held responsible for choices that you do not have information enough to make well enough.

Consider rather that you can trust yourself to always make the best choice for yourself, given your current knowledge and maturity level. Then, if there is any 'penalty' to pay, you are paying the minumum. You are 'paying' whatever your choices 'exact' from you, but you are not forced to worry that you could and should have done better. You are not saddling yourself with unnecessary guilt over decisions that you did not have the ability to make any better.

You are not forcing yourself to 'pay' for 20/20 hindsight. And really, why should you?
