you are gone from Wisconsin to Florida? At each corner you see the same chain store, Starbucks, WalMart, aso. And as I remember from my time there, the houses in Suborbia are the same there and there, so that Daddy needs a GPS to know his house. How do you know you are at an other place? Maybe you have dreamed that.
If I go hundret clicks north, I can see, and hear, that I'm in an other country (Denmark). Little bit more east, I'm in Sweden and can detect that.
Even if we have no controls and customs at the borders between our countries anymore, you are in an other cultur. And that counts. But I understand why citizens of the US make "Europe in three days" travels :-(. They don't know the diffenrence between going long distance and travel between cultures.
But ok, lets stay Bushie in the splendid isolation, we don't want him here. His last barbecue with his conservative friend Angela Merkel and her gang was expensiv enough for the German taxpayer.
