something about that by now. I can usually small talk, one on one, occasionally throwing in a joke even, to test waters, and then let the conversation just kind of die.

The notion of anyone wanting to meet up with me again, for no reason other than my company (!?), is practically anethema to me--I can't fathom it.

Given a reason, a task, a goal, a plan, a job, I'll show up.

Someone just wants to be around me and/or get to know me? Either there are questions about mental faculty, they need something or need something done, there's been some alcohol or other substances consumed, or (my personal favorite, based on actual experience) someone lost a bet.
