Attn farmer Ufies: manger by SnappingTurtle2006-09-25 10:08:33
Not a farmer, but wondering by vetitice2006-09-25 10:21:33
According to the boss, yes by SnappingTurtle 2006-09-25 10:27:37
According to bossman, a manger is a v-shaped container with open slats. You pile in the straw or hay and the animals pull it out between the slats. The device keeps the feed off of the ground. It also tends to accumulate a soft bed of seeds and loose bits of feed on the bottom. The off-the-groundness and the soft bed would make for an excellent place to lay a newborn babe. So it makes a lot of sense that there was a manger where little Jesus was born and that they would lay him in it.
