How well is your privacy guarded? by Peace_man 2006-11-19 12:55:59
And do you want your government to mandate that corporations guard it better?

This question brought to my attention by the HP probe using 'pretexting' methods to get access to phone call logs. What is 'pretexting' you might ask? And is it actually legal in any state, at any time?

This article expands on 'pretexting' a bit - it involves getting access to phone records by pretending to be the person owning the phone. How this can possibly be considered legal anywhere is beyond me. But the question is still: Do you want your government to mandate better safeguards for your privacy?
