| Done all but #3, since I don't knit. |

#1 is just another chore.
#2 is done, I used to do stand-up routines for extra cash, as well as some mime. The Perennial Suicide, making monkey of someone else telling bad jokes - mime tying a noose or loading a pistol and ending it all after the horrible punch lines.
#3, I don't knit but I can weave, and spin (we're doing Newfoundland dog hair from our puppers, once I get it washed and carded), and can build both spinning devices (both drop-spindle and treadle-powered) and a loom, using nothing more than hand tools. I can manage to create quite a number of the hand tools if allowed steel or iron stock. I can manage (have made a small quantity) to smelt iron starting with some red dirt and a supply of coal or coke. (I need one medium-sized dead animal to make the sides of the bellows, as well. The nozzle and valves and such can be easily manufactured.) Theoretically, using that experience I could create enough iron to make the tools to make the loom and spindles, if allowed some of that rusty dirt.
As for #4, the kitchen doesn't have to be that well stocked. Cookies are easy. You should try a "Siege Cookery" challenge, where you are to create a meal to impress the negotiators from a hostile force surrounding your castle using the odds and ends that are still left in the place after a long siege. You are handed some very strange things, usually, and are supposed to impress the judges (the siege-layer) that you aren't at all distressed by their presence, and are still eating and living high on the hog.
#5, part of the job. Sigh. I can manage them, but some days I don't think they listen too good.
#6, part of life. Price for the crop vs. personal need, vs. what was there last year, vs. what we expect the weather to be... Right now I'm planting a couple more rows of beets and another few heads of cabbage for the winter. Working on levelling a spot to build a small (6x8x7 foot) greenhouse from a kit purchased on super-special-el-cheap at harbor freight.
As for #7, streaking is somewhat over-rated. Did it in the 70's when it was somewhat de rigeur; nothing particularly liberating about it.
#8 is too easy. Not hurting, got some cushion, could use a raise.
I get paid for #9 on a regular basis. Good money when you can get it. I was -just- gifted with NINE iMacs in reasonable condition for refurb and to hand out to underprivileged families this Christmas. It's one of the ways I pay rent on the air I'm using and the space I'm taking up, trying to put geekishness to some socially-redeeming purpose. |
