Music question: by Tyop2006-09-25 02:38:03

costs about 75 dollars. There may be other things that need to be done that may be costlier when you get your piano home. But these things need to be done once every 20 or 30 years or so (like revoicing or such).

If you are going electronic, get a GOOD digital piano rather than a "keyboard" or "synthesizer". One that has all 88 keys and whos keys are weighted so it has the feel of a real piano.

The Roland RD-300S was a very decent digital piano (I had one for a number of years). You can pick them up for a few hundred dollars, used. It has less sounds than new(er) digital pianos, but the piano sounds are excellent. I advise getting it at a music store as opposed to ebay, because you want to play the thing and make sure all the keys work and such.

You can also get a used real piano for a few hundred dollars, but expect to pay closer to 1000 bucks for it. Then there's moving costs (expect to hire piano movers for the job if you don't want additional damage). And real pianos can also have bad keys, too.
