Libertarian. My politics are nearly point-for-poi by magixtechnica 2006-09-25 01:08:19
nt aligned with Thomas Jefferson. The Fed Gov't should be 1/4 to 1/8 the size it currently is, federal taxation has run amok, and the states have been completely stripped of their powers retained to them in the Constitution.

People in the US are supposed to be FREE. That means they are supposed to do anything and everything they wish, until such practice infringes on the freedom of another person.

This makes illegal the several internal wars our gov't is fighting: war against arms, the war against drugs, the war against free expression, the war against the citizen's wallets, and so on.

I could go on for hours about the horrific things our authoritarian gov't does that makes me want to explode, but this is neither the time nor the place.

Problem is that Libertarians tend to nominate nuts; but the Libertarian platform is aligned with my personal politics to the nth degree, so I will be voting Libertarian, basically, for the rest of my life.

I figure if the Libertarians ever finally got a serious voting block, they will have no choice but to nominate candidates that match the platform, plus then there will be no dearth of potential candidates.
