In my industry, list prices are difficult to find by Tomo 2006-09-18 11:39:39
If you ask me what the list price is on a particular item, I am allowed to tell you.
However, I cannot give out the whole pricelist.

However, very few people actually pay list price on anything - most people get some form of discount, and I am *NOT* allowed to divulge the levels of discount that are available.

If a new dealer pops up, they usually get very little discount.
Old and trusted dealers get good discounts.
This is something that 'company' should be aware of anyway, although the email does imply that this manager doesn't know the value of the 'old boy' network.

Also, for future projects - CHARGE THEM.
Never pass anything on 'at cost' - it takes you a lot of time to do the research, so always add on a reasonable percentage as a margin to pay for that time.

WRT invoicing - I hope you included a 'late payment' clause in the contract.
In the UK, it is considered reasonable to charge up to 1% over the bank rate of debit interest for invoices not paid within the stated credit period - usually 30 days.

I'd agree that it's worth reiterating the invoice summary 'for informational purposes'
