Thinkpad explodes at LAX. Laptop w/battery banned? by abaron 2006-11-19 12:55:59
This may have been posted on the weekend, but I'm sure there are many like me who don't visit the board on the weekend. So, without further interruptions, the Engadget story.

Now the second part of the post title is pure speculation on my part, but will the airlines start banning laptops all together because of this problem?

At this point it's obvious that there is a LARGE number of bad batteries, probably mostly Sony batteries though (how is it that Sony has not recalled any of their laptops?

In some ways I get annoyed when I see reports of airlines banning all laptops of $brand because they have a battery recall on $model specifically, but with stories like this can we blame them?
