Hey, I need a little letter diplomacy advice by MikeCDN2006-09-18 10:10:05
I would agree to tell them who the suppliers were by AndyA2006-09-18 10:20:33
    Agreed. by abaron 2006-09-18 10:32:40
Suggest that while they could go direct to purchase the equipment you will have to charge them either with identifying what they should purchase, and/or the setup of the equipment and any costs involved in getting the equipment.

I'd avoid direct confrontation, instead suggest that you have an arrangement with the suppliers that they are unable to access. Perhaps something along the lines of "a special agreement with my suppliers on pricing. While I invite you to seek out your own suppliers and setup the agreement I would have to then bill for my time to identify the hardware and for any setup/building costs involved with getting it working at your site.".
