if the camera is needed, something else is wrong there...
I can acknowledge the need of cameras to secure a building, for instance banks etc. But on streetcorners where the only use is to stop fights or theft, something like that, it isn't really working, is it? We still have fights and theft going on in cities, even though there are cameras everywhere. (ever seen those tv-programs that show the security camera-footage of a robbery in progress? The original goal was to get rid of those types of crimes alltogether, but apparently that hasn't worked, has it?)

I'd much rather have a team of cops walking the grounds, than hundreds of cameras tracking our every move.
