At one point I could tell the difference between an incoming call, an incoming text and a cellphone 'handshake', due to the pattern of blips that came through on the technical crew headsets.

I've also heard it over the actual radio mics - the squirt of bleeps coming over the PA was highly irritating.

If you are actually on call, either use a pager as they don't interfere (lower signal strength), or don't go to the theatre that night.
