| (I'm a Virgo) I have all my books sorted alphebetical by author, and chronological by publishing date. I understand the "two very large boxes" At the house I didn't have enough shelves so I used two big Dell server boxes for my SF books (each box with two layers of books, spine up so I can read them)
We just had two Ikea shelves donated to us by the Brother-in-law after we helped him move, so now I have a partial organization of the books. Medical and Chemistry text on the bottom shelves, murder mystery paperbacks on the second (belonging to HieracoSO) Classic books on the third shelf (Shakespere, Poe, etc) and all my mythology and folk story books. Fourth and fifth are my SF paper backs (the ones that I have unpacked so far), and sixth are my books on rocketry and space exploration (again only the ones I've got to unpacking so far) and the top two shelves are Wiccan, Magic, meditation, and spell books, with one end of the top selves to assorted religious texts (Book of Mormon, 4 versions of The Holy Bible, Bhagavad Gita, The Koran, The teaching of Buddha and many others)
I'd be happy with a house/apartment with one (huge) room for a library. online sources are nice for quick references but you can't beat the feel of a dead tree in your hands :-)
Also I'm happy to hear that your brother and you were able to manage the estate without problems, I've heard of too many problems with family when dividing up an estate. My dad made my brothers and I select the things that we wanted while he was still alive and thoes things were photographed with a note "hieraco's items" and put with the will.
Time for me to run now, nice chatting with you. |
