You've got to be F4ING KIDDING ME!
It's readily apparent to me that you place absolutely no value on your own life, your hard-earned (?) personal property, your home, or the lives of those you purport to care about.
Should people represent threats to burglars/thieves/whatever? G3D4 Right They Should! That's called deterrence. That's called standing your ground. That's called caring about what's important to you.
Calm criminals are still that--criminals. If they're armed, so much the worse. If you're armed, you have a chance of stopping them, rather than placing your life in the hands of whatever whim said criminal might have. A thief enters your home, stumbling upon you at home. He decides that he doesn't want a witness to identify him later. Beg, plead, bribe, whatever--if you're unarmed, you're dead. If you're armed, you have a better chance of staying alive, and preserving your property. Period.
You may or may not say that you're a pacifist--the viewpoint you're espousing sounds a lot like what comes from pacifists I've heard from here in the USA. But if you follow your own line of reasoning to its logical conclusion, you're a slave, looking and waiting and hoping for a master.
Some of us don't relish the idea of being dominated, either by a tyrannical government, or by a thug with a weapon and greed on his mind. It's called the right to self-defense, the right to live, and live as a human being, not the property of someone else.
Of course, if you relish the notion of being someone else's property, disregard this whole post, for nothing I could say would make sense to anyone with that worldview and that low of an opinion of themselves. |
