Research is expensive, but as with all such things, its fruit becomes less expensive with time. You will see the price falling. First the rich will buy them, and then as they become more popular the cost will drop and more people who would like a cat (but are allergic to them, or have children who are, or parents who are) will start to buy them as the cost drops.
