There are *so* many cool things to do and see and be. You pick one, and you work towards it, and you enjoy as much as you can along the way. Sure, you'll have to put up with crap for a while, but think where you'll be when you're done! Focus on your studies, find something to do that you enjoy that gets you out of the house and in the world, and try to come up with a way to use your new skills that might please your mom.
And keep in touch with your friends far away, especially that guy! :D I know of a heck of a lot of happy successful marriages that started out long-distance during World War II and are still going strong. |
