It's similar to how proud we are of our cars. Especially down in the South where public transportation isn't common, and everyone needs a car.

And yes, the Constitution transcends law. It's what all of our laws are subordinate to. It is set in stone, until it is amended.*



*Theoretically. Lately the courts have supersceded that by "interpreting" the Constitution to mean what they want it to mean.
