| First time firing a pistol. |

I took a basic handgun course today. My back and arms are rather sore, after only 2 hours of shooting. The Bass Pro range is not currently air conditioned, and I've decided that that is rather important. :) It got rather hot in there, and it's not fun to shoot when sweat is streaming down your face.
I only went through 100 rounds today. I can see why people recommend smaller rounds for those who fire a lot. .45 rounds are quite a bit more expensive than .22, for example. I just take satisfaction in knowing that anyone who attacks me will suffer a rather large hole in return.
My right hand is rather sore right now. I have one small area where the skin is mostly worn through. But, no pain, no gain, right? I suppose that starting on a smaller caliber might have been a good idea, but oh well. I'm pleased with my gun. I fired well enough today that my instructor said I would have no problem passing the Concealed Handgun License class on Saturday.
All in all, it was a very fun afternoon. |
