Although my degree is in Computer Science (and I'm now a technical writer).
However, one thing that my work with software development taught me over the years... never give absolute trust to a piece of software.
Thinking about voting machines right now, I'm reminded of a Simpson's episode. Voting machines are to manual voting as Homer's automatic hammer is to a regular hammer.
There's no *value* in voting machines.
With manual ballots, counted at the stations, with (if that's the way you want to set it up) representatives from all parties volunteering to scrutineer the count, you get results which are far less likely to be perceived as flawed. IMOSHO, that is :-) |
