The Christian Whacktivists have been among us almost from the beginning. When you consider that, the inroads they have made seem quite small. OTOH when it comes to Islam it tends to enjoy an almost protected status from criticism.

You hear words like 'fear-mongering, racial profiling, racism, and bigotry' whenever someone even criticizes Islamic militants (See all the criticism leveled at Bush for saying Islamo-Fascist)

When you are too scared to confront something, you are more vulnerable to being taken over by it.
