I didn't always understand all of it, but it doesn't seem to have damaged me. He doesn't post romance novel detail, and with the exception of 'To Sail Beyond the Sunset' there isn't all that much sex. I'd worry more about Peirs Anthony since he makes it such a taboo subject, then later writes borderline porn.
