"His epitaph was written on tombstone photo posted on a Goth subculture website: 'Kimveer – Lived fast, died young, left a mangled corpse.'"
He wanted to die? Fine. But if he was too chicken to pull the trigger on himself, Quebec offers many other ways to commit suicide. Any dope pusher'll sell you a poison cocktail. He had a car, so he could have done the exhaust-fume sleep.
I'll hate him for hurting -- killing -- innocent others. Every time I walk through the corridors in a SCA or Goth get-up and have people flinch, I'll hate what he did. Now our schools are going to put up inconvenient 'security' measures, which'll annoy the crap out of me, and I'll be frustrated and angered for every cent that went into the useless systems rather than the education.
Did he fear that no one would care that he died? Is that why he hurt other people, so that some of their friends' and relatives' grief could be deflected to him? If that was the case, maybe this tragedy could have been averted. Maybe someone could have, somehow, noticed and reached out to him. A few days ago, I read in the paper that Quebec has some of the best suicide prevention (because we have a huge suicide problem), but it obviously failed him.
If he wanted people to cry at his funeral, he could have done something in his life. He could have taken a couple of months and volunteered somewhere at the very least (and don't tell me that he didn't plan his suicide for months).
As much as he must've fantasized about his death, did he like the idea that he would have caused so much anger, hate, and frustration rather than pure grief at his passing? |
