I still hate the term 'alleged' by ag_wyvern 2006-09-14 09:14:28
in news articles. Specifically, in cases where there is zero doubt. And even more so, when the 'alleged' perpetrator (the 'suspect') is 100% guaranteed to be the bad guy *and* is killed during the crime, which means he'll never go to trial and be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

From the splash text on us.cnn.com for the Dawson College article:

"The alleged gunman in the Montreal college shooting called himself the "Angel of Death" in an online profile, according to Canadian media. Police identified the suspect as Kimveer Gill, 25. He was killed by police after a rampage through Dawson College that left one woman dead and 19 other people injured."

1) Not alleged. Witnessed by *many*, and killed during his spree.
2) Not a suspect. See (1).
