Pluto has been blamed used as the reason that a lot of "interesting" (in the Chinese curse sense) events occured since its discovery. Or maybe the astronomers were just looking at world events and deciding that Eris is having some fun with all of us after all.

But I'd rather have planets/planetoids/heavenly bodies named after mythological characters rather than fictional ones. (although I suppose the fictional ones will become mythological in the fullness of time)
