Thai curry has really nothing to do with Indian curries. There are all sorts of cooking styles linked to that vague word "curry" - it's not a good example. Pizza originated in Italy, but it still has strong Italian links. It always has, and it always will. Sure, it's been bastardized and transmogrified and has pineapple and similar atrocities added, but it's still Italian.
