...there is an ongoing conflict here between the administration trying not to show what war is like at all and the media trying to show the messiest bits to sell their product. Yeah, it would be great if both sides made the effort to show what the military is -really- like, but you can't blame one side (especially with the ludicrous "liberal media" label, when it's much more about money than politics...or have you forgotten the Clinton years?) without blaming the other. And there are circumstances when it is perfectly valid to disobey orders. I'm sure someone here with more complete knowledge can outline those rules. KS
