You do not sign up for *a* particular war. by esbita2006-09-08 10:03:54
I take that as a vote for 'legal obligation'. by Peace_man2006-09-08 10:07:40
You can't always see the "broad picture." by esbita 2006-09-08 10:30:14
A standing army is needed as a manner of basic strategy. Hostile forces will not wait for some farm boy to decide he'll fight THIS war, and train up.

Wars ARE immoral, because there is always one party starting the fight or at least making credible threats. Because of this, you are bound to see some un-pretty things. The military is NOT just sitting in front of a computer doing something "technological." You may end up being the grunt hauling a pack on a long march.

You know the terms of your service when you sign up. If you don't like the thought of someone else ordering you about, don't sign up.
